benefit from special interest rate guarantees on accounts opened from 2 February 2004. See below for more details.
take control of your finances and manage the account via the 'your accounts' area of the website.
view your last 12 statements at any time and keep up to date with your latest tansactions.
earn the same rate of interest, whatever your balance.
make deposits into your account by using your debit card or by transferring money from another external bank or building society, and there's also an option to make deposits by cheque.
withdraw money at any time and it will be transferred directly to your nominated account, normally within three working days. No withdrawals can be made in the first three working days after your account is opened.


Egg Savings Account (Internet) interest rate guarantees

On the Internet option, we guarantee until 31 December 2007 that the gross interest rate for interest paid annually will be at least equal to the Bank of England base rate.

In addition, for new accounts during the introductory rate offer period, the interest rate is guaranteed to be at least 0.75% above the Bank of England Base Rate. We will implement any increase in our rates within 14 days of a change in Base rate.

Egg Savings Account (standard) 2.00% gross p.a./AER interest - zero days' notice.

You'll earn the same rate of interest, whatever your balance.

You can make deposits into your account by using your debit card, by transferring money from another bank or building society account, by bank giro credit or by cheque.

You can also make regular deposits into your account by direct debit. You can set this up when you apply for your account, or at any other time.

You can ask Egg to withdraw funds whenever you like. We can send you a cheque or arrange to pay funds directly to another UK bank or building society account in your name, normally within three business days.

You can choose to receive your statements monthly, quarterly, every six months or once a year. You can also access statements via the Internet whenever you like. The statements will date back up to one year and there will be a maximum of 12 statements to view.

Egg Savings Account (cash card) 1.75% gross p.a./AER interest - with 24-hour cash card access.

This account option gives you the flexibility of a cash card allowing you access to your cash 24 hours a day. In addition, you can service your account however you choose via the Internet, phone or post.


You can withdraw up to £500 a day using your cash card.

You can use the card worldwide wherever you see the VISA PLUS logo, to make cash withdrawals from your account up to the amount available in your account.

You can also make regular deposits into your account by direct debit. You can set this up when you apply for your account, or at any other time.

You can use the VISA PLUS network of 33,985 cash machines within the UK.

You can change the PIN on your cash card at any time, simply by sending Egg a secure e-mail from the Your accounts area of the site, or by calling Egg. We will then send you a short form to complete with your choice of PIN.

Points to note Gross rates quoted are the contractual rates payable before the deduction of income tax at the specified rate.

AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and illustrates the contractual interest rate when paid and compounded each year. This is intended to assist comparison with other interest bearing accounts.
